ABOUT US: WHO CREATED THIS PROJECT?
Prof. Jana Sedláková, PhD. – environmental biotechnology
She has more than 25 years of experience in research in the field of environmental biotechnology in Slovakia and abroad. In addition to Slovak universities, she has also lectured at several European universities. With over 200 scientific articles published in international journals or conferences, over 1000 citations, 9 books and 2 patents she is renowned expert in her field. Besides research and university teaching, she is active in science popularization organised by universities and upon invitation she lectures in a popular form for children and adults at various events, such as TEDx, Elektráreň Piešťany, Bašta Bardejov, Christiania Prešov, Night of Churches or Christian Summer Camp organized by ECAV, Košice, etc.
Joanna Willner, MSc. PhD. – metal engineering and recycling
She has more than 20 years´ experience in metal enginnering and recycling research. In particular, her main areas of interest include the recovery of metals from waste materials (such as electronics, batteries, and catalysts) and the potential use of microorganisms in recycling processes. She is the author and co-author of over 70 scientific publications, an academic textbook, and a patent. She is actively involved in promoting and popularizing science in the fields of recycling and chemistry. She also organizes and conducts laboratory classes and workshops for children and youth at the Silesian University of Technology (e.g., Fridays with Materials Engineering) and she frequently participate at the Researchers‘ Night.
Mgr.art. Mária Stanko – scenographer, artist
She graduated at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava in the field of puppet scenography. She cooperated with Puppet Theatre on Crossroad (Batolárium Pa a Pu). She is internal scenographer of Theatre TUŠ. She cooperated with Clown Doctors in costumes creation. She cooperated in creation of African Tales (for Bibiana), Neposedko, puppet Breptika (Slovak TV), Theatre Zábavka – the greatest heroes, Lotroviny mojej babky, batolárium – Spod škrupinky, Fíha tralala and others.
Mgr.art. Viktória Sedláková – puppeteer, art teacher
She graduated at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava in the field of puppet acting. From 2016 she is a member of art ensemble of Puppet Theatre in Košice. She cooperates with Theatre in Train Platform and Theatre TUŠ. Besides she is an author of her own puppets plays based on children’s books. You can hear her in radio, dabing or TV. She has experience with teaching of literary-dramatic study program in Elementary Art School Jantárova in Košice.
